Customer Testing Facilities Acceptance
CTF Stage | Acceptance | Comments | Legal requirements |
---|---|---|---|
Stage 1 | - | ||
Stage 2 | - | ||
Stage 3 | Australia does not allow the use of CTF level 3 and CTF level 4 CB reports and certificates for gaining local certification in Australia. This applies to any domestic electrical products, regardless of whether mandatory local certification is required, or not. CTF level 1 and 2 CB test reports with CB certificates remain acceptable for local AU certification. This is a uniform requirement across all jurisdictions in Australia, with all regulators in agreement. This is regulated in the EESS States through the General Guidance notice 63, and in NSW through the gazetted REAS Conditions, under which all Certifiers must operate. CTF level 3 and CTF level 4 CB reports with CB certificates may still be used as proof of compliance by manufacturers and importers for non-regulated products where certification by a local Australian certifier is not required by law. This includes level 1 and level 2 risk articles in the EESS regulations and any non-declared articles in the States not participating in the EESS. However, if Australian certification is sought for these products, CTF3 and CTF 4 reports will not be accepted as proof of compliance by the Australian certifier. | - | |
