Committee of Testing Laboratories

When a new IEC Standard is approved under the IECEE Scheme, the relevant expert task force in the Committee of Testing Laboratories (CTL) prepares a list for testing and measuring equipment that is required in order to operate for the Standard in question.
 

Testing lab prerequisites

In principle, CB Testing Laboratories, under the responsibility of a National Certification Body, shall have all testing devices and facilities to cover the requirements of the relevant product Standard.

However, in exceptional cases when well-founded reasons prevail, such as, special test equipment, which is hardly ever needed for testing, it may be accepted that some testing can be subcontracted or borrowed/rented. Please refer to OD-2012 for more information on subcontracting or borrowing/renting.

The nature of such testing is determined standard by standard by IECEE-CTL.
