The IECEE is the International Commission on the Rules for the Approval of Electrical Equipment being a standardization body of the International Electrotechnical Commission. The IEC uses the name IECEE for the IEC System for Conformity Testing and Certification of Electrotechnical Equipment and Components, known as the CB Scheme.
IECEE CB-FCS is a comprehensive international certification scheme for electrical products. It is an extension of the international IECEE CB Scheme and is an option to be exercised by the participants in the CB Scheme and by applicants under the same IECEE management structure.
As worldwide demand for product certification continues to grow, there is the need for a Factory Surveillance Service (FSS). FSS is a worldwide service, which ensures particular products are manufactured according to applicable terms/requirements, such as quality, reliability and consistency of manufactured products.
Concern over the presence of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products has led many countries to pass legislation restricting their use. The IECEE Hazardous Substances Testing Service (HSTS) offers an excellent way of demonstrating compliance with the relevant national regulations in different countries.
The IECEE Global Motor Energy Efficiency Programme (GMEE) addresses the many trade barriers due to these differing country regulations for motor efficiency, and to attempt to set up a globally harmonized and applicable programme.
