TÜV SÜD Product Service offers testing and certification services in their associated laboratories (CBTL's) as well as the procedures CTF (Customer’s Testing Facility) procedures from Stage 1 to Stage 4 .

Applicant submitting a CB Test Certificate can be:

Foreign manufacturer directly
Foreign manufacturer via representative resident in the country
Commercial agent

The following documents should be submitted:

Formless application letter (stating name and address)
CB Test Certificate
CB Test Report
One sample of the product
Documentation (e.g. manuals, circuit diagrams, photos, list of components etc.)
Factory-inspection report (if available)

We always require a specimen of the product when a CB Test Certificate is presented for national recognition or for acceptance in any other country with national deviations to the standard(s) concerned.

We are prepared to recognize annexes to the CB Test Certificate and Test Report covering our national deviations.

Applications for the CB-Scheme are dealt with priority.

First factory inspection and Follow Up are required for the applicant to acquire and maintain the validity of a TÜV SÜD Product Service Certificate. In case of doubt, samples for further re-testing may be taken. Testing costs for such samples are charged to the applicant if deviations have been found.

Certification is valid for those years for which the product is under TÜV SÜD Product Service Follow Up surveillance and for which the applicant pays the annual fees unless the certificate is canceled because of non-compliance or on the applicant's request.

Appeal in writing against decisions of the NCB shall be directed to:

Chief Technology Officer of TÜV SÜD Product Service GmbH.

The following TÜV SÜD Product Service Marks are covered in excess of the IEC or CEE safety standard:

 

TÜV SÜD Product Service-Mark for appliances as medical devices, technical equipment according to the equipment safety law and for components.

 

TÜV SÜD Product Service GS-Mark for technical equipment according to the GSG (German equipment safety law) - optional instead of the TÜV SÜD Product Service-Mark.
