CTL Meeting Beijing 2009-05-13/14/15

A(H1N1) Influenza Situation

As an international gathering involving over 100 delegates flying in from more than 30 countries, the CTL meeting presents some risk of cross infection. The incubation period of the A(H1N1) virus is 7 days, so it is possible that delegates can go back home carrying the virus without knowing it. In spite of all the preventive measures taken, there are no guarantees.

The Chinese government has temporarily stopped direct flight to Mexico and announced related quarantine measures. Our Mexican delegates from ANCE have informed they will not be attending the meeting.

It is also possible that some further preventative measures may be taken at the meeting venue at the request of the relevant local authority. Your understanding and cooperation is requested.

After long period of preparing for the CTL meeting, we will proceed with the meeting as planned. However, we must be aware of the potential risk related to the flu epidemic. All CTL delegates are hereby notified that CQC cannot be held liable in the event of an infection during their stay in China.
