TÜV Rheinland now NCB in three major world markets

TUV Rh Japan Lab "International approval" is a major benefit for manufacturers and traders and has thus been a major management objective at TÜV Rheinland/Berlin-Brandenburg (TÜV RBB). We are proud to announce that already during our first business year as a newly accepted National Certification Body for Japan a large number of companies have benefited from our service. Through the CB Scheme, manufacturers and traders gain simpler access to each new market. With TUV Rheinland, they benefit from experience with multiple recognition as a National Certification Body and the international approval network for all major world markets. Our continuous efforts paid off first in Germany when TÜV Rheinland Product Safety (TRPS) joined the CB Scheme as a NCB in 1994. TUV Rheinland of North America was next as a NCB in 1995 for the USA, and now, since 1998, TÜV Rheinland Japan (TRJ) has become a Japanese NCB in the OFF (office equipment) and TRON (consumer electronics) areas. And quite remarkably, TRJ is the only non-governmental organization recognized as an NCB in this crucial market. The thus achieved plurality of NCBs in Japan will no doubt lead to an increase in the total number of certifications, and TRJ, with its direct service to numerous clients in Japan, is happy to play an active role in the promotion of the IECEE CB Scheme. Gauged by the number of certificates issued, Japanese manufacturers are the most eager participants in the CB Scheme, and particularly in the OFF and TRON product categories. These manufacturers rightly consider a NCB a service provider and therefore demand speedy, reliable, and highly efficient processing. TRJ meets these demands with its two accepted CB Testing Laboratories -- in Yokohama and Osaka -- and its experienced, flexible staff of on-the-spot engineers and technicians. Also supporting the "Full Certification Scheme" (FCS) without reservations, TÜV Rheinland Japan is now getting ready to participate in the FCS. This will be based on agreements with external partner organizations and further aided by the very close cooperation that exists between TÜV Rheinland's NCBs in USA, Germany and Japan. Although a relative newcomer to the CB Scheme, TÜV Rheinland Japan has become a fully accepted and active member within the group of traditional NCBs.
